Veteran television producer Theresa McKeown moved to Los Angeles in the 80’s with a BA in telecommunications and film from San Diego State University, determined to take the city by storm. By anyone’s accounting, she landed on her feet, first working for Norman Lear, and then George Carlin and his wife, Brenda. She made the leap from working with successful people to being successful herself.
In short order Theresa got a job working on "Inside Edition," quickly becoming its LA Director of Operations. After nine seasons of “Inside Edition" Theresa moved on to "American Journal”. Here she produced live shots across the country. The following year she decided it was time to branch out on her own, so Theresa formed her own production company, DalaklisMcKeown Entertainment. During the next ten years she executive produced hundreds of hours of television for such wide-ranging clients as CBS, Lifetime, USA Network, VH1, MTV, Fine Living, E Entertainment, Fine Living, The Travel Channel, TLC, TNT and Style Network as well as a host of corporate clients. She not only managed all new and existing business, but facilitated an increase of billings from $500K to $10 million within the first three years of operation.
In her role as a producer, Theresa has traveled world-wide, with her mettle being tested in high pressure situations as diverse as shooting shows at the White House, NORAD, the Pentagon, FBI headquarters, maximum security prisons and from the top of the World Trade Center. Along the way she "tail-hooked" onto an aircraft carrier in the Pacific, yachted through South America with jet setters and chased bad guys with the LAPD in a helicopter. She survived both OJ Simpson trials, shot live from heart of the LA Riots and drove through a wall of flames during the Laguna fires.
In other words, there isn’t much that she hasn’t seen or done in the entertainment industry. With over two decades of production experience under her belt, Theresa is currently developing various television, film and Internet projects.
